Course Details
Stage 2 - Interview Preparation Course 2023 - One to One (4 Hours)
The interview preparation course is an intensive 4 hour course consisting of the following modules;
1. Application Form Review - Go through your completed application form with you and give you guidance on questions that may arise from it.
2. Interview Preparation - Give you guidance on how a competency based interview is conducted and how to prepare yourself for it. It is very important to understand how a competency based interview differs from a standard job interview. Give you a comprehensive insight into how the Garda interview is conducted, the nature of the questioning, what the board are looking for in the candidate, and how to conduct yourself from start to finish. Conducting research is also a key part of your preparation as well as understanding the importance of both verbal and non-verbal communication at the interview.
3. Choosing Competency Examples - Take you through the Skill/Competency areas and give you guidance on how best to demonstrate these to the interview board. Help you choose appropriate examples from your experiences for each area of competency and give you guidance on how to deliver these examples in a structured manner.
All courses are conducted personally by David Gavin and can be scheduled to suit you.
